I’ll listen to your mix in detail, from a mastering engineer’s perspective, and give you a break down of what’s working and what’s taking away from the music. The environment I work in is very revealing, so this can sometimes be a little brutal, but it’s worth it and will most definitely give you a greater confidence in your mix before sending it off for mastering. I’ll be talking about tonality, balance, dynamics, clarity and musicality. It’ll still be up to you to understand what changes you’d need to make to deal with any issues I bring up, but I will offer suggestions from what I can hear. I’ll also have a listen to your updated mix if you want (2 more iterations) and confirm/deny that the changes you’ve made have improved things.
